Während sich seit der Gründung im Jahr 1999 die Zusammensetzung der Soundystem Crew aus Zürich immer wieder geändert hat, blieb eines immer gleich. Seit jeher spielt der Roots Rocka Tribe „uplifting Music“ und positioniert sich klar in der Ecke von Roots & Culture. Diese Haltung hat die Crew in zahlreiche Clubs in der ganzen Schweiz und angrenzenden Ländern geführt.
Der Roots Rocka Tribe besteht aus eingefleischten Vinyl-Collectors und hat sich über die Jahre eine umfassende Plattensammlung aufgebaut. Mit „Culture Dem“ wurde deshalb ein eigener regelmässiger Dance organisiert bei dem lokale und internationale Soundsystems eingeladen wurden. Mehrmals wurden Benefizpartys zugunsten von Hilfsorganisationen veranstaltet.
Aufgrund von personeller Änderungen und anderen Projekten hat sich die Crew über einige Zeit zurückgezogen. Für die Zukunft plant der Roots Rocka Tribe jedoch wieder vermehrt Aktiv zu werden. Mittlerweile haben auch sie sich schweren Herzens dem digitalen Wandel angepasst und spielen die Selection in digitaler Form.
Many things have changed since 1999 and although the members of the soundsytem crew from Zurich have changed either, there is one thing that remains the same: Roots Rocka Tribe has always played “uplifting Music” and has clearly positioned itself in the field of “Roots & Culture”, which enabled the crew to perform in numerous clubs across Switzerland and even in a few locations in neighbouring foreign countries.
Roots Rocka Tribe is a group of enthusiastic passionate “Vinyl-Collectors” and this is exactly the reason why they are able to rely on a versatile record collection. An event called “Culture Dem” used to take place on a regularly basis and many national and even international soundsystems were invited. Additionally there had been serveral charity events which were organized in order to support aid organisations.
Since there have been quite a few chances among the crew and because of several other ongoing projects, the activities of the sound system were put on ice. Now, after all this years, they are planning the future of roots rocka tribe and they intend on being more active, even if this means to adapt to the new technologies and to play their selections digitally.
